The roots of my musical career are buried in the 60ties. My bedroom was next to the bedroom from my elder brother Willi who was strongly interested in music. He played the songs of the rock and pop bands at that time over and over again which he did very aloud.
At a very young age I was confronted with bands like The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin- only to mention a few.
I realized very fast that the groovy guitar sounds of Pete Townshend, Jimmy Page or Alvin Lee released a remarkable and fascinating prickle in me. The dream of an own band and to be with them on stage was born!!

The next step to an own band was to meet Hubert (Hugo) Clemens. We met at school in the early 70ties. We built our first rehearsal room in the cellar and used reconstructed radios as amps. Together with self built fuzz tones we created an incredible sound. We found a bass-player, a drummer and wrote our first songs and the first band called ”Crevasse” was formed.
(I actually don`t know why we had to use this silly name!!!)

Anyway our first gig took place on 19th may 1979 and the club was jam-packed. The gig was great, the audience was enthusiastic and we became heroes!!! The cornerstone had been laid.
(…some years later I got to know that Frank Le Gov was in the audience.) Together with Hugo and changing band members I formed several bands within the 80ties.

“Crevasse” became “Steamship Company” and this band was changed into “Thirsty Man Band”.
While the band “Steamship Company” was active, there was another, I would rather say
“divine coincidence”. Frank le Gov joined the band as a bass player. The beginning of a long and still existing friendship.
After the Thirsty Man band was dissolved, Frankie and me founded the band “Boys `r`us in the middle of the 80ties. This band became very successful. 2 records and some hits in the Belgian charts were the result. But this “Rock `n`Roll train” didn`t drive endless. Frankie and I had to move on!!! After endless, but also entertaining months of recruiting new band members, we founded the band “Silent Deceiver” together with DeeDee and Stevie. Since 2003 again the rock `n`roll train keeps on driving!!!

After 5 years of “Silent Deceiver”, lots of gigs, our first CD, I more and more get the impression that our journey begins right now…!!!
…long live Rock`n`Roll and never change a winning team!!
